CUMMING currently has an opening for a Forensic Accountant (CPA) with litigation and testifying experience. This is a Director or higher level role. The individual is preferred to be located in our Los Angeles, CA office, but we are open to other office locations within California as well as other offices within our firm. The CPA will play a large role in the consultancy and development of Forensic Accounting litigation within our Dispute Resolution team. We will relocate for this position if necessary.
Responsibilities:
  • Provide expert witness testimony for construction claims in specific area of expertise
  • Provide in-depth consulting to bring claims to a resolution prior to lawsuit
  • Develop and present well thought out multi-media presentations to current and future clients
  • Provide expertise in construction accounting, audits, reporting, and disputes
  • Play an active role in business development for Dispute Resolution & Avoidance business line within Forensic Accounting expertise market sector
  • Provide expertise to include construction audits, forensic accounting, economic damages, business interruption, appraisals / valuations, etc.

 
Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree required
  • CPA (Certified Public Accountant) highly preferred
  • Advanced degree preferred
  • 10 years of total construction and/or accounting experience required (15+ years preferred)
  • Experience giving expert witness testimony (seasoned testifying expert)
  • Ideally a Forensic Accountant with CPA and construction accounting experience within audits, reporting, and disputes
  • Consulting background with complete skills in acquiring, performing, managing and presenting forensics work
  • Must be adept at business development, public speaking and multi-media presentations
  • Areas of expertise may include Construction Claims, Intellectual Property, construction audits, forensic accounting, economic damages, business interruption, appraisals / valuations, etc.
  • The following sector expertise is a plus: vertical, civil, petro-chem, power, water and waste.
