In this role, you will be a member of our rapidly growing Program & Project Management team. This position is a great opportunity to join an industry leader and will have you working within our Energy & Sustainability Team in the Los Angeles office.
 
We are currently looking for an Assistant Project Manager with a background in compliance to join the Cumming team. This position will be working closely with the client to help implement an emissions reduction program for their major capital projects in the LA Region. The client is committed to using greener, less polluting construction equipment and vehicles; and implementing best practices to reduce harmful diesel emissions on all of their construction projects. The emissions reduction program provides requirements for: Identifying and mitigating diesel exhaust emission impacts from on-road and off-road equipment used during construction and development activities, on human health and the environment; Implementing appropriate best management practices to complement equipment mitigations; and implementing strategies to ensure compliance with this policy. The ultimate goal is to reduce harmful air emissions (particularly particulate matter and nitrogen oxides) while minimizing any significant impact to cost and schedule in any existing construction project.

Responsibilities

  • Review monthly equipment and fuel submittals for designated projects;
  • Assist with on-site Inspections on a quarterly basis;
  • Assist in preparing written materials including correspondence, reports, procedures, and guidelines;
  • Conduct quality reviews of all written materials prior to distribution to clients;
  • Maintain project files;
  • Aid with the collection, review, status, and organization of project documentation, data, and deliverables;
  • Performs other duties as directed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree – Environmental Planning, Environmental Sciences, Environmental Management, or related field;
  • Minimum 3-5 years of project management and/or environmental industry experience;
  • Experience on construction projects and/or with construction monitoring;
  • Familiarity with greenhouse gas / air quality inventories and/or analyses and emissions calculations;
  • Familiarity with CARB rules, regulations, and permitting for off-road, on-road and portable equipment;
  • Familiarity with South Coast Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD) rules, regulations, and permitting;
  • Extremely organized and detail oriented;
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including strong knowledge of Excel;
  • Experience with Visio is desirable;
  • Ability to be work in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
