    Our Senior Cost Manager position provides a fantastic opportunity to work within the Themed Entertainment sector in Orlando, Florida as this role will have you consulting to a marquee client known globally for their theme parks and other themed entertainment properties. Previous experience with hospitality projects is required in addition to your passion and drive to support these exciting project types.


    At Cumming, Senior Cost Manager’s work closely with all levels of Team Members within the organization to perform cost management and estimating consulting services for Architects, Engineers, and Developers / Owners. They partner with office and project sector leadership to align Cumming’s services to the needs of clients with the goal of providing industry leading consultation and revenue growth. Our goal is that you achieve immense success and graduate to the level of “Director” where you will oversee a project sector, client base, and/or geographic region. Below are some of the items you will take on.

    • Collaborate and partner with client design team to develop Budget Authorization estimates by performing accurate quantity take offs using plans, specifications, or conceptual information.
    • Collaborate with client’s design and project controls team to develop appropriate unit rates based on scope of work, quality, performance requirements, productivity and historical data.
    • Prepare regular milestone estimates to correspond with updates in the design development and provide analysis on estimate trends, including detailed cause of change documentation.
    • Develop and lead executive estimate reviews to confirm milestone estimate status and prepare documentation to show comparison to the Budget Authorization estimate.
    • Continuously identify project risks and evaluate required contingency at various stages of the project, including the development of a comprehensive risk register and cost risk analyses to better inform senior management of significant risks.
    • Provide support to the creative design team to ensure they are able to deliver their creative vision in the most effective manner.
    • Perform full cost management role once projects are under construction including monitoring and forecasting trade budgets, evaluation of all change orders, preparation of monthly cost reports and settlement and close out of trade packages.


    • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Civil/Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or Architecture is highly preferred. A combination of education and work experience will also be considered in lieu of degree.
    • 5+ years' of estimating, cost management, and/or project management experience. Experience in estimating in the United States with values of $100M+.
    • Post contract estimating experience required.
    • Advanced skill level in Excel and intermediate knowledge of Windows, Word, PowerPoint, Publisher, and Outlook.
    • Previous experience estimating on hospitality projects is required. 
    • Knowledge of On Screen Takeoff Software is a plus.
