    We are currently seeking a Senior Proposal Manager to manage the development and submission of proposals for our Southwest region.  Reporting to the Director of Communications, this position will be based in either our Los Angeles, CA or San Diego, CA office, and will be a member of the company’s corporate marketing team.

    The Sr. Proposal Manager position is a vital one for the company. It is also one of Cumming’s most visible roles. The ideal candidate for this position will possess common sense and intelligence, get along well with others, be an excellent writer and editor, possess efficient work habits, be experienced in Microsoft Word and Adobe InDesign, excel in managing multiple projects and deadlines concurrently, and be a dependable self-manager. This position will also manage a proposal coordinator, so management experience and skills are a must. Your duties as Sr. Proposal Manager will include, but are not limited to: 

    • Managing and mentoring a proposal coordinator
    • Reading, understanding, and communicating RFP content
    • Leading kickoff calls and assigning responsibilities and deadlines
    • Writing and editing both technical and promotional material
    • Working with team members across the company, including in different states and countries, to develop required proposal information
    • Reviewing proposals at every stage of the development process to ensure they meet all RFP/Q requirements, as well as all internal standards for writing, presentation, and overall quality
    • Maintaining detailed proposal records
    • Assisting in preparing interview materials
    • Participating in proposal debriefs and seeking continuous improvement


    • A bachelor’s degree that is relevant to this position
    • At least 3 years of proposal management experience, and 5+ years of total marketing experience
    • Experience managing 100 or more proposals per year
    • Experience managing direct reports
    • Experience in the A/E/C industry
