    Perform quantity take-off, pricing, and computer input for commercial construction building projects, and provide pricing expertise in various phrases of construction work. Analyze and review blue print specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates for commercial building projects; review data to determine material and labor requirements; compute cost factors; apply unit costs and productivity rates, and conduct market studies to understand risk factors affecting project budgets. Solicit and collect subcontractor and vendor bids or quotations; develop and nurture subcontractor/vendor relationships; prepare subcontractor analysis sheets for assigned scope of work. Prepare project plans considering project event sequence, time and cost. Prepare monthly, weekly and daily progress reports for presentation to senior project management, as well as to clients; these status updates will provide a general overview of cost control, cost forecasting and future cost planning; develop and implement budget proposals. Evaluate changes and subcontractor change order estimates. Conduct research and attend industry seminars to keep abreast of federal, state and local contracting guidelines, and, develop and implement project procedures in accordance with these general standards.


    • Bachelor’s degree in construction engineering, construction management, quantity surveying or a related field.
    • Five years of experience in job offered, or as a quantity surveyor, architectural designer, construction project manager or a related occupational title.
    • Alternatively, the employer will accept a Master’s degree and two years of experience.
    • Demonstrated expertise in interpretation of architectural drawings and ability to render basic architectural drawings for problem-solving at client site.
    • Demonstrated experience in design build projects working with project lifecycle, including performing cost estimates and pre-construction process.
    • Demonstrated working knowledge and advanced skills to operate computerized system to prepare correspondence, reports, budgets, and schedules.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Publisher, Outlook, and AutoCAD.
    • Demonstrated written and verbal business communication skills, including the ability to facilitate meetings and high-level interaction with clients.
    • Experience in multi-location projects.
