    In this role, you will be a member our rapidly growing Program & Project Management team. The PM team's standard is to 'manage each project like we own it'. We are unique in that we provide in-house cost management and project scheduling along with program and project management, in a fully integrated package.     We are currently looking for an Assistant Project Manager to be based out of our Charleston, SC office. This is a great opportunity to work on a large scale project within our cultural sector.


    • Provide administrative and management services to manage projects in accordance with budget, schedule and contract requirements.
    • Schedule and conduct meetings to discuss procedures, progress and scheduling; prepare and distribute minutes.
    • Update Project Schedule; recommend corrective action if needed.
    • Coordinate sequence of construction with contractors.
    • Maintain accounting records for work done by unit prices.
    • Develop procedure for review and process of pay applications.
    • Review safety programs to ensure contractors have them in place.
    • Determine, in general that work is done by Contract Documents; can authorize additional inspections and tests if required. Can reject work, with the A/E‘s concurrence.
    • Transmit RFI’s to A/E for resolution: assist as required in resolution.
    • Record progress of work; keep daily logs and weekly logs; submit to Owner if required.
    • Maintain record drawings on site; maintain as-builts of all conditions.
    • Arrange for delivery, storage, protections and security of Owner purchased items.
    • Observe final start-up and testing of systems; include Owner’s maintenance personnel and A/E.
    • Prepare pre-inspection punch list with Contractor.
    • Assist Architect in substantial completion and final completion inspection.
    • Coordinate the correction and completion of work. Recommend to the Architect when work is ready for final inspection.
    • Obtain and transmit all close-put documents, keys, stock materials, etc. to Owner.


    Quality Assurance Responsibilities:

    • Control of necessary orientation, training, qualifications and performance of field personnel.
    • Adherence of field work to the contractual specifications, drawings, procedures and restrictions.
    • Coordination of all Prime Contractors.
    • Establishment of requirements for coordination of site receiving, storage and identification of all materials, parts components and systems.
    • In conjunction with the A/E, prepare a final punch list outlining all work deficiencies.
    • Eleven months after completion of the project, a “walk-through” with the Owner/A/E should be scheduled to assure the conformance with applicable guarantees.
    • In conjunction with the project manager, ensure that accurate “as-built” drawings are maintained for ultimate transmission to the Owner.
    • Ensure that concrete, soils, steel and other applicable tests are being performed by the appropriate test laboratory and that testing results are properly recorded and distributed.
    • Maintain a log of appropriate tests being witnessed by local agencies. Witness these tests as well.
    • Perform other duties that are reasonably associated with the above essential functions and additional duties assigned by supervisor.


    • Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent field experience is required. Training in process for Project Management expertise is required. A combination of education and work experience will also be considered in lieu of degree.
    • 2-3 years' experience in education project construction management.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Expedition, Prologue, Microsoft Project, Primavera, etc. 
    • Ability to read blueprints, and the ability to multi-task, prioritize and work efficiently. 
    • Flexibility to adapt to all situations and work varied hours; possibly work weekends or evenings.
