    We are currently recruiting for a Program Manager located in San Diego, CA, to support a large capital improvement program for a private university. The Program Manager is to operate as the lead role for the program team. This person plans, directs, and manages all designated aspects of the program schedule, scope, and cost and ensures that goals or objectives of the program are accomplished within the prescribed time frame and funding parameters.


    • Responsible for multiple projects within a program.
    • Plan, manage, and coordinate all aspects of the project schedule, scope, and cost.
    • Establish, monitor and control projects with progressive reviews including scope, cost, schedule and risk.
    • Identify and assess scope, schedule and budget changes and make recommendations to bring into compliance with program goals and objectives.
    • Be an advocate for the client.
    • Deliver projects on-time and on-budget.
    • Communicate with the Client and the affected ‘Users’ often both verbally and in written reports.
    • Direct contract delivery and negotiate with the contractors.
    • Value Engineer the projects.
    • Manage the on-site project management team.
    • Meet deadlines.
    • Have the ability to work independently, guided through broad direction.
    • Provide overall coordination and implement controls to ensure that projects are completed efficiently.
    • Identify and advise Owner of any potential obstacles or issues that need special attention during the project; assess options, recommend preferred approach and implement as required.
    • Regularly assess the status of work, establish and administer quality assurance and control programs for projects.
    • Ensure all reports and submissions are identified and included in the project's schedule of deliverables.


    • Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Engineering, Urban Planning, Construction Management or a closely related field. A combination of education and work experience will also be considered in lieu of a degree.
    • 10+ years' experience in the management of construction projects. A minimum of 5 years working in a consulting capacity or directly for Project Owner (Owner's Rep).
    • Experience managing large construction programs required.
    • Experience managing large educational projects/programs is strongly preferred. 
    • Proven record of managing projects and team members.
    • Proven record of maintaining client relationships.
    • A valid Certificate of Registration as an Architect by the California Architectural Board, or Professional Engineer by the California State Board for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors, or a valid Construction Manager (CCM) credential by the Construction Manager Certification Institute, is preferred.
